Kristin George
I am a scholar-practitioner working to understand the institutional reproduction of inequality and the dynamics of social change.
I hold a PhD in sociology from UC Berkeley. My current research focuses on protest within formal organizations, with a focus on the relationship between organizational authority structures, suppressive capacity, and social movement tactics. I am currently working on a book manuscript on anti-slavery protest within 19th century protestant churches as well as a new article on Palestinian-solidarity activism within academic professional associations. As a consultant, I leverage organizational theory and rigorous mixed-methods research to help organizations understand, improve, and communicate their efficacy. |
